Dubai's highlights will be better appreciated during a fascinating historical excursion to appreciate among others the Majlis Al Ghorfat, a magnificent structure constructed in 1955 and recently restored, originally the summer residence of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al-Maktoum. The Jumeirah Mosque and Dubai's Bastakiya area to admire the old-wind-towered houses which were built by wealthy merchants and the Sheikh Mohammed Cultural center, which is located within the Bastakiya area. The Al Fahidi Fort, a 200 year-old structure that houses the Dubai Museum and records the city's past as an important pearl diving and trading centre is a must.

The mysterious desert is the ideal venue for a magical and memorable evening. Leaving behind the crowds and chaos of the city, trained safari guides driving 4x4 vehicles lead the thrilling journey over towering sand dunes, and through the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, deep into the heart of the desert. A falconry show not only showcases the majestic bird of prey, but also the beauty of the desert at dusk, making for multiple photo opportunities. As the sun casts its glow over the soft sands, lanterns come to life in the distance, signaling a traditional welcome. Inside the camp, the many traditions of local hospitality revive memories of the Arabian Nights with Bedouin-style seating, aromatic water pipes, camel rides, sand art, traditional Arabic attire, and henna designers. To top the evening's entertainment, belly dancing is accompanied by the haunting strains of classical Arabian music.

In Abu Dhabi an orientation tour of the city will take you to the impressive Grand Mosque – named after His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late President of the UAE. It is one of the largest mosques in the world, able to accommodate more than 30,000 worshippers. You then visit the Heritage Village where souks, an old fishing village and Bedouin tents have been replicated to give you a feel of traditional life in Abu Dhabi. After a short trip to the tip of the breakwater for a superb view of Abu Dhabi’s magnificent skyline, you drive past the presidential palace areas and the majestic Emirates Palace Hotel. You will visit Corniche, with its gleaming white mosques and elegant high-rise apartments and the Manarat al Saadiyat Exhibition center, where one can see the exhibition showcasing the culture and history behind the Saadiyat Island development, along with models of posh beach resorts and golf courses, and future plans.
